Yoga Therapy originated in the Yoga tradition of Patanjali and the Ayurvedic system of integrated wellness which focuses on health and wellness for all aspects of the individual: physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual. Yoga therapy is the adaptation and application of Yoga techniques and practices to prevent illness and dis-ease, promote healing, restore balance, increase vitality, and create a state of overall all well-being. It can be used in conjunction with Eastern or Western medical practices to help treat the individual as a whole, integrated person.
Physical: Yoga Therapy is useful in the treatment of conditions and symptoms that arise in any system of the body, including musculoskeletal, cardiovascular/respiratory, digestive/elimination, neurological, endocrine, and immune/autoimmune.
Psychological: Yoga Therapy is effective or overall stress management, and in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and other psychological conditions. In addition, it helps with circular/negative thinking, mind-body awareness, emotional regulation/management, energy levels, and mood.
Spiritual: Yoga Therapy helps promote self-awareness, and assists with identity formation/reformation, spiritual awakening, and divine connection.

"I woke up this morning with my SI joint feeling rather constricted. Basically it feels like someone is pulling on your lower back and it is very uncomfortable. Fortunately I know some yoga poses to do to release the tension based on my wonderful experience with yoga therapy. This type of therapy is different from yoga as Dawn develops a specific set of poses to target problem areas in your body in order to develop strength and release tension. Yoga therapy has significantly improved problem areas in my body such as shoulder, neck, and hips. And the best deal is that Dawn will teach you the poses and then you can do them on your own when you get a flare up." ~ Lisa D.
"I thoroughly enjoy each session with Dawn. It is a personalized therapy session that rejuvinates me physically, mentally and emotionally. The techniques she uses help to open up my hips, increases flexibility and is relaxing and energizing all at the same time. Dawn has a positive, healing energy that flows from her heart through to her hands. It is a gift from God for sure!" ~ Melanie F.
